CPIP expresses condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Richard Bates, long-time head of Disney’s Government Relations team in Washington, D.C., who died suddenly on December 31, 2020. Richard was a consummate professional and knowledgeable advocate for the interests of the creative community. His impact in the policy arena was far-reaching, and he was much respected and warmly regarded by those who had the good fortune to know and work with him over the years.
